Under the project leadership of Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov, it became the Soviet Union’s standard military side arm from 1951-1991 and was used by most Communist forces and during the Vietnam War the Makarov pistol was used by the North Vietnamese Army
The Makarov has a DA/SA (double-action, single-action) operating system. Even today, this is still one of the most recognized pistols in the world
This Non-Firing Replica has metal construction with plastic grip that is so amazingly close to the original. Although the action functions like the original including a 1 stage cocking hammer, and working trigger, working slide, and removable clip, this gun cannot fire any type of ammunition and is classified as a “non-gun”
This replica CANNOT be converted to shoot any projectile, it has a solid barrel and no firing pin
